St Andrews Grand at the Old Course will become home of the most exclusive club in the world with its 115, by private invitation only memberships. Built in 1895 on a parcel overlooking the 18th Green of the Old Course at St Andrews, the Building was originally an elegant hotel called the Grand Hotel. The hotel was purchased by the University of St Andrews in 1949 and converted to its current uses as an undergraduate dormitory. Now, the Building is about to be returned to its original grandeur and be transformed into an exclusive enclave of 23 luxury residences. Redevelopment is scheduled to begin in July 2006 and be completed by Spring 2008.
Once renovations are complete, the St Andrews Grand will offer amazing, untouched views of the Old Course and The North Sea. The unique residences will have contemporary elements such as gourmet kitchens, state-of-the-art appliances, luxury bathrooms, and privacy zones to accommodate guest quarters. In addition to the private residences, the St Andrews Grand will have a Club Room with a library and grand piano, a Private Dining Room, and a Pub with billiards for Members only.
