David D. Wasserman, Principal, is at the forefront of Wasserman Real Estate Capital LLCís growth, acquisitions and developments throughout the United States and abroad. From established relationships with retailers and prominent REITs, to collaborating with municipal leaders across the country, Mr. Wassermanís underlying commitment is to develop properties that are profitable and also meet the goals of the communityís economic development plans. With more than 23 years of industry experience, Mr. Wasserman has achieved more than $2 billion in sales and lease of real estate transactions.

Mr. Wasserman has been the catalyst in catapulting Wasserman Real Estate from a regional Providence, Rhode Island-based, retail-driven developer, to an internationally known company with a diverse portfolio of properties and projects; they include some of the nation's largest retail and residential entities such as Federated Department Stores, Forest City Enterprises, JPI Apartment Communities and May Department Stores Company.

In addition to creating key alliances, Mr. Wasserman has taken a leadership role in cultivating strategic partnerships with established equity organizations. Most recently, Wasserman Real Estate joined forces with Vornado Realty Trust, a fully integrated real estate company and one of the largest REITs in the nation, to form the Wasserman Vornado Strategic Real Estate Fund, LLC. This $300M+ opportunity fund will target retail, residential and mixed-use projects in urban and selected suburban, in-fill locations in high-density, high-growth metro areas of California, Florida and the Northeast. Incorporating noted public art components is at the center of many projects and offers a distinctive architectural structure in a fresh, new urban community. Well- known artists such as Leo Villereal, Rudolf Stengel and Jorge Pardo have been commissioned to integrate their work into the development projects. In 2005, Mr. Wasserman also orchestrated the acquisition of Hamilton Hall (formerly the Grand Hotel) located across from the 18th green at The Old Course in St. Andrews, Scotland. The vision to expand the firmís presence abroad led to a co-controlling interest in Kingsbarns Links, Scotland, ranked in the Top 5 golf courses in the world by Golf World.

Prior to joining Wasserman Real Estate Capital LLC, Mr. Wasserman practiced law at the firms Finley, Kumble, Wagner, et al. and of counsel to Edwards & Angell. Mr. Wasserman holds an A.B. degree from Columbia University and a J.D. degree from the Boston University School of Law and is a member of the New York State Bar Association. A noted speaker at industry trade associations such as ULI and urban studies seminars at Brown University and Columbia University, Mr. Wasserman actively serves on the boards of RxArt and Creative Time, both of New York City and various academic organizations.
